Sports Round-Up by Paul Beitler

Hoosiers top Franklin in exhibition
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — Christian Watford had 25 points and five rebounds to lead Indiana to an 89-37 exhibition victory over Franklin College on Wednesday night.
Maurice Creek scored 16 points for the Hoosiers in his first game action since fracturing his left knee in December.
Will Conoley scored 14 points for Franklin, a Division III school about 20 miles from Indianapolis, which trailed 46-24 at halftime.
Indiana played without junior college transfer Guy-Marc Michel. Before the game, coach Tom Crean said the NCAA was looking into Michel’s eligibility status because he played on a French club team that had some professional players.

NCAA checking out I.U. transfer
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — The NCAA is taking another look at the eligibility status of Indiana’s Guy-Marc Michel.
The Martinique native attended high school and took college courses in France, where he played on a club basketball team that included professional players.
After leaving France, Michel played basketball at North Idaho Community College before joining the Hoosiers.
Indiana coach Tom Crean says the school expected the NCAA to take a longer look at Michel’s eligibility because of his foreign connections.
Crean says the Hoosiers expect Michel to be cleared by the NCAA in the next few weeks.
Michel sat out Wednesday night’s exhibition game against Franklin College.
