Indiana DNR Release:
Refuel for the day with pancakes, sausage, and a cup of coffee at the hunters breakfast, Nov. 13, at Salamonie Reservoir. Stop by the Interpretive Center between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. for free food, rest and good conversation with your fellow hunters before you return to the woods. All are welcome and donations are accepted. If you know you are coming ahead of time, please register by calling (260) 468-2127.
“For several years, we have enjoyed getting to know the hunters during the weekend’s annual gathering,” said Marvin McNew, director of Upper Wabash Interpretive Services. “Many hunters choose to camp in the modern campground with family and sign-in to hunt one of Salamonie’s 30 hunting areas.”
Featuring exhibits, floor-to-ceiling windows in the wildlife viewing area and staff to answer your questions, the Salamonie Interpretive Center is located in Lost Bridge West Recreation Area on Highway 105 in western Huntington County. The regular center hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
