Klay Fiechter assists in UIndy victory
INDIANAPOLIS — The University of Indianapolis football team fought from behind to defeat Ferris State 37-33 in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game on Saturday.
Paul Corsaro scored the game-winning touchdown with just 48 seconds left on a two-yard run. The Greyhounds improved to 5-4 and 4-4 in the GLIAC.
Klay Fiechter, a 2010 Norwell graduate, led UIndy in rushing with 81 yards and scored on a 50-yard run in the first quarter. That was his fourth carry of at least 30 yards this year.
Bluffton boys may enter
Elks’ Hoop Shoot
Any Bluffton-Harrison male student may compete in the Elks’ Hoop Shoot contest at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13, in the Bluffton High School gym. Age groups of 10-11 and 12-13 will be determined by age as of April 1, 2011. If the student will be 14 on April 1, 2011, the student cannot participate. Proof of age is required either by presenting a birth certificate, baptismal certificate or passport. Winner of each division will advance to the Wells County finals on the first or second Sunday of December. Breakfast fundraiser at Southern Wells
The Southern Wells Athletic Department will be sponsoring a breakfast fundraiser to benefit the Athletic Transportation Fund from 7-10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6, in the elementary cafeteria. Donations will be accepted. Pancakes, sausage links, breakfast casserole, coffee, juice and milk will be served.
