Wilson to play in all-star game
GOSHEN — Norwell senior Jenelle Wilson is one of 25 high school girls’ basketball players who has committed to play in the Kessler Sports’ Champions of Character All-Star Game on Friday, April 16.
The game will played at Goshen College’s Gunden Gymnasium, starting at 7 p.m.
Michele Harter of Warsaw and Kristi Kinewski of Penn will coach the split squads. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students. Tickets will be available at the door. The game will be broadcast live on 91.9 FM and webcast on www.michianasportsauthority.com

Norwell golf team ranked 12th
The Norwell Knights are ranked 12th in the Indiana High School Golf Coaches Association (IHSGCA) boys’ Top 20 poll, which is as follows:

Weekend of races at Anderson
ANDERSON — Anderson Speedway will host a big doubleheader weekend Saturday and Sunday, April 10-11.
On Saturday night, the IOFS Outlaw Figure 8s will be the showcase event with a 50-lap feature. The IOFS Front Wheel Drive division also will be on hand.
Other divisions in action on Saturday include ThunderCars, Street Stocks and Front Wheel Drive Figure 8s. Spectator gates open at 4 p.m., followed by racing at 7. Admission is $10 for adults and $4 for children 6-12. Children five and under get in free.
The USAC National Midgets will be on tap Sunday in a 100-lap race. A special practice session is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Local divisions joining the midgets include the Front Wheel Drive Oval division and Pure Stocks. Spectator gates open at 11:15 a.m. with the racing at 2. Admission is $15 for adults and $4 for children 6-12. Children five and under get in free.

Montpelier track to open
Montpelier Motor Speedway is slated to open its 2010 racing season Saturday with a program featuring United Midwestern Promoters (UMP) Modifieds, Super Street Stocks, Thunder Cars and Modified Lights.
Gates open at 4 p.m., hot laps at 6 p.m. and racing at 7.
General admission is $10 for adults, with children 12-and-under admitted free with a paid adult. College students will be admitted at half price with college ID.
