Wrestling weekend at JCHS

There are four video segments that News-Banner Sports Editor Paul Beitler took at the IHSAA Jay County High School wrestling sectional on Saturday at Portland.

In the first one, Bluffton sophomore Philip Gerber defeated Bellmont sophomore Bobby Keuneke 10-3 to win the 119-pound weight division and advance to the Jay County regional.

In the second one, Bluffton senior Bobby Perry is battling South Adams senior John Striker in the 125-pound weight division championship match.

The third one shows Perry defeating Striker 9-5 for the sectional championship at 125 pounds.

In the fourth one, Southern Wells sophomore Seth Biberstine is wrestling against Bellmont senior Andrew Bultemeier, who Biberstine goes on to upset 15-11 for the 215-pound division sectional championship. Bultemeier was the top seed in the division and Biberstine was seeded third, not the second seed as is incorrectly stated during the video. Biberstine earlier bumped out the second seed, Matt James of Jay County. James had defeated Biberstine earlier in the season at the ECIC tournament at Jay County.
