Vogel helps Urbana post win
Urbana University freshman center Andrea Vogel scored 14 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to help the Blue Knights’ women’s basketball team defeat Oakland City 72-61 on Thursday evening at Urbana, Ohio.
Vogel, a 2009 Norwell graduate, was five of seven from the field and four of seven at the free-throw line.
Unique Lane topped Urbana with 26 points and Ashley Falknor added 16 points.

Bluffton freshmen whip Blackford
Jackson Lambert scored 18 points and Chandler Prible 15 Wednesday night to lead the Bluffton Tigers’ freshman basketball team to a 51-24 victory over the Blackford Bruins.
Ian Betz added eight points and Trey Mettler four, while Dalton Cunningham and Brock Pace each had three.

Wrong Fiechter
In Thursday’s sports story about Southern Wells’ wrestler Darin Fiechter. His father’s name was incorrectly stated as Rick Fiechter, instead of Lynn Fiechter. The News-Banner regrets the error and apologizes for any inconvenience it may have caused.
