Campground being closed
BEDFORD, Ind. (AP) — The state Department of Natural Resources plans to close the campground at a southern Indiana fishing area.
The agency says camping won’t be allowed beginning in March at the Williams Dam Public Fishing Area along the East Fork of the White River near Bedford.
The 37-acre fishing area, fishing platform and two boat ramps will remain open without any staff members on site after June. The 30-unit campground and some associated buildings will be removed.
The agency says the Williams Dam site is the only one of its 29 fishing areas with a campground. It says the campground generated little revenue to cover its costs and needed a sanitary dumping station that could cost as much as $40,000 to build.

Casinos make haul on Super Bowl
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Gambling regulators say Nevada casinos won almost $6.9 million on this year’s Super Bowl as bettors wagered $82.7 million on the NFL title game.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board said the win was $179,000 more than sports books won last year, on $1.21 million more in bets.
