News-Banner Sports Editor Paul Beitler shot some video at the IHSAA girls' swimming and diving sectional at Jay County High School in Portland, during the opening rounds on Thursday.
The top six swimmers move on to Saturday's championship finals and the next six advance to the consolation finals.

Below you can see Norwell's Kelly Brewer swimming in the 100-yard freestyle event. She finished as the second fastest heading into Saturday.

Also, Norwell's Brooke Cossairt swimming in the 500-yard freestyle and finishing up. waiting to start next in the 500 is Bluffton freshman Rachel Emshwiller, who earlier set a meet record in the 200-yard freestyle and took the top seed for the event Saturday. She went on to break the 500 free meet record, too.

In the final video, Emshwiller is finishing up the 500.
