Indiana DNR Release:
Registration for Salamonie Reservoir’s “Reservoirs Rock!” children’s day camp has opened. The Aug. 3-6 camp will focus on Indiana geology, spending one day each on rocks, minerals, fossils, and land forms.
Children ages 7 to 11 are invited. Each day provides a variety of fun activity sessions from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Children can make their own quicksand, pan for gold, canoe, hike, fish and swim, as well as enjoy games, crafts, movies and more.
The week’s activities will be guided by interpretive naturalists trained to provide a safe and fun environment to learn about our world. A snack will be provided. Children need to bring a sack lunch with drink each day.
Space is limited. Advance registration is required by calling (260) 468-2127.
A $55 participation fee for each child is required. The gate fee to enter the property each day is waived for registered youth. Parents will be asked to fill out health/participation forms before their child enjoys activities on the first day.
