Outdoor Indiana magazine features fall

Indiana DNR Release:

The new issue of Outdoor Indiana magazine rocks.

The cover photo of the September-October issue shows a rock containing a sea scorpion fossil, shot from the Indiana State Museum’s collection. What’s a sea scorpion got to do with land-locked Indiana? Read the story on the best Indiana fossils to learn. Fall’s low water levels in the Ohio River also make for prime time to see Indiana’s prehistory at Falls of the Ohio State Park, which is part of the feature’s photos.

Of course, fall’s known better for foliage. A photo essay will get you primed for the real thing.

The issue is available now at most DNR properties and most Borders and Barnes and Noble stores in the state.

Find out the whole story to each and more by subscribing to DNR's 48-page bi-monthly full-color magazine for $12 for a year (six issues). Call (317) 233-3046 or go to OutdoorIndiana.org. Join Outdoor Indiana magazine on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/OutdoorIndiana.

If you love the outdoors, you'll love Outdoor Indiana magazine.
