Indiana DNR Release:
Salamonie Reservoir will present its Riders Rendezvous, Sept. 18-20, at its Lost Bridge West Horsemen's Campground. Horse owners are welcome to bring their horses and camp for the weekend or come out for a day and enjoy the sessions.
Non-horse owners are encouraged to attend to view the variety of horses and mules, but no rentals or rides will be available.
The horsemen’s campground is located in Lost Bridge West Recreation Area on Highway 105 in western Huntington County. Advance registration by calling (260) 468-2127 is encouraged. The fee for the weekend's events is $2 per person. Camping fees are extra.

The schedule of events follows.
Sept. 18, set-up and campfire time in the evening. Stop in at the tent where Loop A and B of the horse camp meet.
Sept. 19, 10 a.m., "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Mules." Mule enthusiast Dann Perigo will discuss owning mules versus horses and demonstrate their versatility.
Sept. 19, 11 a.m., "Introduction to Driving." Ivy Owen of O-Bar-S farms will demonstrate how to begin driving a horse. A professional trainer for 35 years, she has six International Champion Saddlebreds to her credit.
Sept. 19, 1 p.m., Ride time. Ride your horse on your own or with a guide to Bozarth’s store or a scenic overlook.
Sept. 19, 5:30 p.m., Cowboy-style stew. Enjoy a bowl or two of hearty stew made by camp chefs Dave and Pat Putt. Donations accepted.
Sept. 19, 7 p.m., Campfire chat. Learn the ins and outs of rodeo with rodeo judge and saddle maker Bob Glessner.
Sept. 20, 8:30 – 9:30 a.m., Pancake breakfast. Donations accepted.
